Terms and conditions
The rules for buying coffee from us: pricing, shipping, the monthly subscription, what happens if something arrives wrong, and what a quote is worth.
What this is
These terms govern your use of this site and anything you buy on it. It is operated by Amazonian Coffee Company LLC, at 440 N 1st St, San Jose, CA 95112.
Buying something or submitting a form means you accept what is written here. If there is a part you cannot live with, do not buy — and write to us, because sometimes the part that stings is one we can change.
Who can buy
You must be at least 18 and have a shipping address in the United States. The store does not ship outside the country; green coffee by volume is a separate conversation.
Products, prices and tax
Prices are in US dollars and exclude tax: sales tax is calculated at checkout based on your address.
We may change prices and the catalogue as needed. The price that counts is the one shown when you placed the order. If a price is obviously wrong, we tell you before charging and you can cancel at no cost.
Coffee is an agricultural product: the cup profile of the same origin shifts between harvests, and photographs are illustrative. What does not shift is the origin, the process and the producer named on the bag.
Orders and payment
Your order is an offer to buy. It is accepted when your confirmation arrives; until then we may decline it — the lot sold out, suspected fraud, a pricing error — and you are not charged.
Shopify processes payment through the methods shown at checkout. We never store or see your full card number.
Shipping and delivery
Flat $10 shipping to any address in the United States.
In San Jose, Campbell, Los Gatos, Santa Clara, Milpitas, Cupertino, and Sunnyvale we deliver ourselves, and from $34 that delivery is free. The distinction matters, because it is the one most often misread: the threshold applies to DELIVERY in those cities, not to shipping across the country. Outside the delivery area the $10 applies no matter how large the cart.
Posted delivery windows are estimates and start when the order leaves, not when you place it. We are not liable for carrier delays, but if your order is lost in transit we replace it.
The address is yours to get right. If a package comes back because it was incomplete or wrong, reshipping is charged.
Monthly subscription
Choosing the monthly plan authorises a recurring charge. Here is exactly how it works, with nothing underneath it:
- What is charged: the plan price shown when you subscribed, with its discount applied, plus whatever shipping your address calls for.
- How often: once a month, until you cancel.
- How to cancel: from the management link in your subscription email, or by writing to hello@amazoniancoffeeco.com. It cancels when you ask; to stop the next charge, do it before the renewal date.
- If the price changes: we email you before it applies, and you can cancel before it is charged.
A charge that already went through but has not shipped is refunded in full if you tell us in time.
Returns and refunds
Roasted coffee is perishable and does not come back: a bag that left here cannot return to inventory, and no serious shop would resell it to you.
What we do instead, without argument: if your order arrives damaged, wrong, or the coffee arrived stale, tell us within 14 days of delivery with a photo and your order number, and we replace it or refund you. Your choice which.
If the order never arrived, write to us anyway: we trace it and replace it.
Complimentary samples from the business programme are not charged, so they are not refunded either.
Business quotes
What the business form sends you is an estimate, not a firm offer, and the document says so on its first page.
- What makes it firm: written confirmation and the deposit. Until then prices can move with the market.
- How long it holds: every quote carries its expiry date. Once expired it is not honoured: it is reissued at the coffee price and exchange rate of the day.
- Green coffee: price is quoted at the variety's reference cup score; the actual lot's score is set by cupping, and the adjustment — up and down — is written into the annex of every quote.
- Availability: if the quoted lot is gone at confirmation, we offer one of equal or higher score at no extra cost, or return the deposit. No lot is ever substituted downwards without your written agreement.
If we sign a supply agreement, that agreement overrides this section.
Using the site
You may browse, buy, quote and link to what we publish. What you may not do is this:
- scrape the site with bots or copy the catalogue to resell it;
- impersonate the brand or anyone on the team;
- try to break it, overload it, or reach places that are not yours;
- use our photos, copy or name to sell something else.
Brand and content
The name Amazonian Coffee Company LLC, the logo, the photographs, the copy and the design of this site are ours or used with permission.
If you send us a photo, a review or an idea, you give us permission to publish it here and on our channels with credit. Ask us to take it down later and we take it down.
Links and third-party services
We link to WhatsApp, to Instagram and to Shopify's checkout. What happens inside those services is governed by their rules, not these.
Warranties and liability
The site is provided as is. We work to keep the information accurate and current, but we do not warrant uninterrupted availability or that every detail is free of error.
Except where the law does not allow it to be limited, our liability for an order does not exceed what you paid for it, and we are not liable for indirect damages such as a sale you did not get to make.
None of this cuts into the rights California consumer law gives you. Where these terms and that law disagree, the law wins.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
If there is a problem, write to hello@amazoniancoffeeco.com first: almost everything gets resolved there, and faster. If it still is not resolved, the courts of Santa Clara County, California have jurisdiction.
Changes to these terms
We may update them. The version that applies to you is the one published on the day you placed your order, and the date above says which one is current.
